dragons launch their season in the community

For the second year running the St George Illawarra Dragons conducted their season launch in the community with a combination of staff, players, Corporate Partners and key stakeholders coming together to work in the local community, The theme for the event was 'Making a Difference' from the John F. Kennedy quote: "One person can make a difference and every person should try".

  

Participants met in Kogarah and Wollongong and were split into groups to undertake activities under the eight pillars of Dragons Community: Health, Education, Charity, Women and Girls, Environment, Mentoring, Cultural, and Grass Roots. Activities included Clean Up Australia activities, the planting of a sensory garden at St George School, Rugby League Reads, Positive Behaviours for Success assemblies, Joanne Mackay Breast Cancer Foundation workshop, and Eat Well Play Well Stay Well assemblies.

  

Following the group activity all participants came together at the Jumbulla Aboriginal Discovery Centre to learn more about the Aboriginal history of the region and share their experiences of the day.
